I wanted to take a really old looking museum logo and modernize it. So a random search brought me the "New York Fire Museum."

The logomark is an abstraction of the Statue of Liberty's torch flame, while the typeface is reminiscent of classic NY style. Wrap it up with a fresh palette and there you go!
