I am working with an exciting new security startup that has the potential to change the way we secure things on a day to day basis.
Quick explanation about the process for this:
The startup was seeking a flat design that catered to iOS7's style.
Initially I had designed similar objects but based on relative colors (gray for the lock and handle, black for the rotating knob). Although the results were decent, I was not satisfied. I decided to strip all the color out of the design and focus on a flat stroke type design that accentuated typical iOS shadows using a transparent effect but not overlaying the shadow past it's boundary.
