Orthodox Church

The unusual Orthodox Church, with its simple form, exudes the spirit of today. The church is designed according to all canons and provisions of Christian ethics, worship and discipline. The base of the church is an inscribed cross and consists of a pronaos (entrance part), a nave (central part), two apses on the sides of the nave, as well as a central apse for the altar. The church was built in a skeletal system, with a white wall covering, a marble floor, and sandblasted glass windows. The shape of the church is asymmetrical and contains a bell tower on one side only. At the back of the building, there is an incised cross that follows the shape of the apse, and there is a LED lighting that form a luminous cross during the night. The glass wall and the roof that intersects the building, actually divides the pronaos, ie. entrance part of the church from the main nave. The interior of the church is also simple, with white walls and a white marble floor. The iconostasis is behind the altar, above the main nave there is a vault representing the dome and it is painted. The interior and exterior of the church represent a vision of a holy place in the spirit of today. The church is designed for a rural area, in that part there are buildings with mostly white traditional facades so that the church building fits perfectly into this environment, but its appearance is clearly recognizable for the purpose it serves. The atmosphere of the church should be calm and heavenly, which was the main motive when developing its concept.
