Sokağa Düşen 20 Fanzin / 20 Fanzines That Fell On The Street

Fanzine: An entity that is not understood by everyone and that does not address to everyone; in fact, not even itself. It is the amateur soul; the truth. While it is often casually published, it is sometimes published to show someone the other side of a story. It gives happiness to its creator, and makes the reader ruminate on things. The reader sometimes cannot attach a meaning to it, but knows that there are no mistakes and the creator told what s/he felt must be told. This was how I started my journey into fanzines. Even though I have never read a fanzine, I always thought about creating one; I always dreamt about publishing a fanzine without even seeing one. The day I decided to start creating a fanzine, I went and purchased all fanzines I could find. I read them all and thought how happy I was to dream about creating one. And now, I am so happy that I decided and created Seyyar Sesler fanzine on street music, literature, and design. Only then I started to love fanzines and their culture even more. There I was, holding numerous fanzines and thinking that their creators must be like me, must be on my side. So, I found their addresses, blogs, or e-mails. I told them that I was about to create a book with 20 fanzines inside, which would be up-to-date and continuing fanzines, and asked if they would answer my questions. They all were on board with me; I contacted 20 fanzines, I prepared and sent the questions and started getting feedbacks in about 3 months. I also asked them to send me the cover they found the most aesthetic or the best cover they have ever created. I gathered what I had and published “Sokağa Düşen 20 Fanzin”. Not for everyone to understand, know, and read.
