Trumpetiste

This self-initiated experimental work is inspired by American jazz trumpeter Clora Bryant.

Born in 1927, Bryant came to be a respected jazz trumpet player despite open sexist discrimination. She was a featured soloist for the International Sweethearts of Rhythm, an all-female jazz band. She played for Billie Holiday and Josephine Baker, as well as performing alongside Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker and Louis Armstrong.
