Hide comments during live

One of the most common pieces of feedback we’ve heard from our members is that it can be distracting to watch a live video with live comments and reactions. Live by its nature can be a little chaotic which can be overwhelming for viewers, but this can be especially hard for those with visual impairments. Now viewers can hide the comments and reactions and just focus on the video

The Details — We really strived for inclusivity as a principle in our design. We wanted to make sure there was always a button present on the screen that members can tap to hide, even when the video was fullscreen. The idea was to avoid gesture only input or burying the icon under menus that would make it difficult for people with low mobility to access.

In addition to helping members hide comments we also re-designed our landscape layout so the comments better coincide with the video and are no longer overlaid on top
