Logo Design and Typography for Biollante

I was contacted by a metal band called Biollante to design their logo. They had a rough sketch which they aren't dead set on, but if possible would like to keep the symbol underneath.

In their words, they are generally just looking for something that stands out, looks cool and is easy to read, like any logo really, but there's a lot of metal bands with near unreadable logos.

I wanted the symbol to be the centerpiece and inspiration for the typography. The result is a design that pays tribute to the metal scene, yet is easily readable even with its curved edges and sharp corners.
