Sweet & Spooky
This painting was made with the intention of creating a piece that contains a strong sense of duality and contrast, as well as distortion. I distorted the bones in a way where they still look like bones, yet they’re not anatomically or medically accurate. The contrast in this piece comes from the inclusion of the bones, which are often seen as being creepy or disturbing, and the use of a pastel color palette. This creates an image that’s a little bit odd, yet palatable and somewhat pleasing to the eye. My peers have told me multiple times that it gives off Dr. Seuss vibes.
