Chisos Mountains Lodge

A personal project steeped in nostalgia for a one-of-a-kind place. Big Bend National Park was the first national park west of the Mississippi that I ever visited. The landscape seemed so alien to my Virginian eyes and it has stuck with me as few places have.
Rattlesnakes.
Roadrunners.
Javelinas.
Soaking in hot springs while staring up at petroglyphs.
Lying in the back of my pickup truck as the Milky Way spilled across the sky.
Looking out over the Rio Grande at a small Mexican town.
Spreading apart the tall grass atop Emory Peak to reveal thousands of ladybugs.
