Night Noise

Photo Illustration. Night Noise comes out of anxiety. When we relax and become less active at the end of the day, sometimes the brain kicks in with all of its reminders and warnings and what ifs. Turn on the TV, read a book, go for a walk, anything to dispel those squirrels-on-hamster-wheels taking up residence in our heads. But there's one sure way to free the demons for us city dwellers, and that is to go for a walk in the city on a rainy night. Everything is closed, but still lit up. Blue screens flicker in upstairs windows. The remnants of a busy day swirl in the air as everyone settles down, even as all that noise in your head plays itself out, and if it's warm enough, even the rain isn't bothersome. It's almost comforting. Everything is just different at night.
