Hospice Isle of Man
Hospice Isle of Man provides free services for over 350 patients a year, the cost of which is covered by fundraising events and regular donations. Originally, I worked with their marketing team to create an illustration celebrating their 35th anniversary, which was then printed on their fundraising event gazebo and on tote bags which were sold in charity shops throughout the Isle of Man.
The following year, the Hospice worked with Wild in Art on the public art project Wallabies Gone Wild, an island-wide installation of wallaby statues decorated by dozens of artists from near and far. They contacted me about adapting the Hospice anniversary illustration on to a wallaby of their own, which was then displayed at Ada Cubbon’s Memorial in Foxdale for 4 months in the summer of 2019.
The wallabies were sold at auction and raised a collective £250,700 for the Hospice, £17,000 of which was from the sponsorship of my wallaby which will now be permanently installed in the Hospice gardens for their patients and staff to enjoy.
