Faux Low Poly Planets

This is a bit old, but I'm using this approach for some new illustrations.

Basically, I create the low-poly model in Blender 3D (without colors or anything) and then I trace the shapes in Illustrator.

The technique is a bit odd I admit, but I have few advantages doing so:
1. I don't have to put textures or patterns onto the shapes. The problem is, I'm not using Blender since a long time and I don't remember everything so well. So tracing and then colouring it's easier at this point. Eh eh.
2. It's a little bit easier to change things in "post-production". I can also apply patterns and textures in 2D styles.
3. I can have a plain SVG if I don't do too many fancy things.
