Is this humanity ?!

A pregnant elephant was killed last month. She was allegedly fed a pineapple stuffed with crackers which exploded in her mouth, the report is horrifying. She was apparently calm and trusting and harmed no one. This may have been human malevolence at its finest. When we learn to treat animals better?
