Caligrating Rhythms: Mapping Mumbai, India

A studio project to re-imagine the Mithi River: a river that runs through the city of Mumbai, India and ends in a tidal estuary. My project centered around mapping and representing the rhythms of the landscape: from tides, to rainfall and temperature, to religious holidays and train schedules. The final design was a spiraling walkway attached to huge existing water pipes (that bring drinking water into the city and cross the river), connecting two informal developments and allowing the user to experience the range of environments: from long vistas of the train and city to intimate up-closes of the water and wildlife.

This work was completed while I was a student in the Master of Landscape Architecture program at the University of Pennsylvania.
