Accountabilty

My heart breaks as the country mourns the loss of George Floyd and countless other innocent black people and people of color due to police brutality. In this time of civil unrest and revolution, the lyrics of Jeff Rosenstock's "NO DREAM" echo in my head. I see a lot of criticism about the way in which oppressed people express their pain and disaffection towards our government which perpetuates systems of inequality. To the critics, I would suggest taking a step back to look at the bigger picture and the multitude of factors that would influence someone to lash out in this way. Hold accountable the architects of hopelessness and never-ending violence.
