Thylacine - A Phantom in the Wilderness

A part of an ongoing private series of mine about recently extinct animals. A theme that grows in urgency and importance. The Tasmanian thylacine exists in a strange kind of limbo. Officially declared extinct in 1936 with the death of the last known individual in a Zoo in Hobarth, there had been again and again supposed sightings of thylacines on Tasmania and even mainland Australia. And a small portion of myself hopes for a survival of the thylacine somewhere in the wilderness.
