Chatbot Shopping App: Interaction
I’d like to share one of my almost forgotten concepts which I did as a job test assignment. It was supposed to allow me to demonstrate my design-thinking and aesthetics. The assignment was to create a chatbot mobile shopping experience that creates delight around an e-commerce platform through the conversational user interface.
Given the limited amount of time for delivering the task, I defined myself as a target audience representative. This decision justified the creation of the app that conveys my love for fashion, online shopping habits, and preferred visual approach.
The naming ‘Browsie’ supports the idea of the chatbot component using a nickname-like personal name derived from ’browsing’ as a common term in online, as well as in physical shopping. The name and the whole chatbot concept is a set-off to the minimalistic visual tone-of-voice of the app, balancing the two together.
Unlike the standard navigation actions, this app uses vertical gestures to move back and forth throughout the app. Instead of going to the previous screen, this app gets you stay on the same screen while swiping up to go back or scrolling down to start a suggested browsing session.
This is the first look of the app, stay tuned for more!
