Curly Neal

Tribute art honoring Fred “Curly” Neal of the Harlem Globetrotters, who passed away last month at age 77. When I was about 6 or 7, my dad took me to see the Globetrotters at the Spectrum. It was one of those great days as a kid, just me and him. I was enthralled by the team’s antics and Curly, being the most recognizable player, became my instant favorite. Nearly 40 years later, I still have an appreciation for the Globetrotters as a team that represents the best aspects of what spectator sports should be.
