This is an image from my Oliver Sacks' series of patients.

It shows the conscious and subconscious mind by applying to the visual metaphor of a submarine's ability to submerge below the surface. A direct reference to the patient: His mind was trapped in his days of youth as a mariner, his body is that of an old man.
