Ruby “The Jewel of the Ghetto” Goldstein

As a fighter he was known as the “Jewel of the Ghetto” and as a referee he was known as “the Third Man in the Ring.” I don’t know if anyone, in any sport has had 2 better nicknames.

Without live sports, ESPN has been televising old boxing matches. I’ve always been a fan of boxing but watching some of these old fights reminds me how brutal yet beautiful this sport was at one point. Vintage boxing is required viewing. Even as a designer, old school boxing robes contain some awesome lock ups. Plus the names and nicknames are truly masterpieces.
