The New Small Cos.

In 2017, I created Small Cos. with the idea of making it the go-to place for anyone looking to join a small company. It was the non-job board, job board.

Most sites would keep adding more over time, but I’m going in the opposite direction. Fewer options, fewer distractions, fewer toggles. Just great jobs served up to you, fast. So I’m excited to share my smallest update yet!

The new Small Cos. is lightweight and built around a curated (not paid) selection of small companies each month. Many of them are companies that you might not normally find on job boards, while others are companies you might not realize have small teams.

The current batch of companies leans towards tech and software, but tech isn't all there is, so I plan on highlighting a variety of small companies over time. Imagine finding a role with a nice independent bookstore. Or a ceramics studio. Or a natural history museum.

Each batch will have a theme. The theme of this first batch is ‘Afloat’ — featuring companies that I think are well-positioned to weather the current storm and are working on interesting challenges.

So if you know anyone looking for a job right now, either because of natural career changes or layoffs, feel free to share this with them.
