Judging by the prompt, it's not too difficult to pin down our beloved misfit. Fabian among his severe cut throat family of dracgur, (vampire(s)), would rather lay back and go with the tide. Despite his responsibilities as a prince, a chosen heir to the empire, he lacks attention. Mara is a bloodied ruthless warrior, thriving on her mother's (empress), shortcomings of peace negotiations to rally a crowd. Fabian, with his future being built and expectations for being the first emperor in a millenia, can hear common sense telling him; he's not ready to be a ruler, not made to kill for attention.
