Getting Word Logo

A project for Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello’s ‘Getting Word’ program. Working together, we wanted something that could represent the rich history of theAfrican-American storytellers. ⁣

⁣This logo is made up of two elements…a sound equalizer and a small piece of an African garment pattern. I also tried to use a font that paid a bit of homage to the old Civil Rights posters of the 50’s and 60’s.
