Battle Heads 16x20 Screenprint
In 2008, Minnesota's voters passed the Legacy Amendment. Part of this was to preserve arts and cultural heritage. I received an art grant in 2011 through the Minnesota State Arts Board, because of the Legacy Amendment. This screen print ‘Battle Heads’ was born through the grant. It was first shown at the Wild Hare Bistro and Coffeehouse in Bemidji, Minnesota. The entire grant process, creation process, and exhibition process is extremely valuable to artists. It helped my transition from graduating college to the next chapter in life. Thank you Minnesota! The screen print is based off of an old photograph, simplified, and printed in three colors.
