MACHINAE
Machinae is an independent art piece which dives into the realm of audio visual expression. How do you visualize sound in an appropriate manner? The musical world of Autechre has to it's nature a very robotic, artificial character and at times appears to be of alien origin. This led to the idea of a technological device which by means of transformation is able to express sound through motion. When image and music reach the highest level of synchronicity, the experience merges into a greater unified system. While music has its own certain language, the style and manner of which a technological being is expressing itself might be of a very different nature. Which came first, the music or the image?
