Weekly Warmup Redesign Malaysian Ringgit
Context
I took up the Dribbble Weekly Warmup Challenge to redesign a piece of currency for a nation of your choosing. I picked Malaysian Ringgit.
Design Challenge
1. Sizing of the Currency Notes
I wanted to create currency notes that scale relatively according to its values. For example, RM100 note should be the largest and RM20 should be no larger than RM100 for instant recognition.
2. Retaining Malaysian Cultural & Historical Values
Part of what makes Malaysia unique is its flora & fauna and natural wonders. Thus, you can see the examples of the endangered Sarawak Hornbills, Rafflesia flower, Tapir, World Heritage Mount Kinabalu and our Father of Independence, Tunku Abdul Rahman shouted ‘Merdeka!’ 7 times to proclaim Malaya’s independence in 1957.
