In My Own World

Do you like being alone? Or do you hate it?

As an ambivert, I sometimes struggle at explaining to my extroverted friends why I'd rather skip the parties to stay at home. I created this minimal art series, featuring 3 characters: The Artist, The Guitarist and The Bookworm. The 3 characters advocate enjoyment in spending time alone and embracing solitude.
.
|| The Artist
For the artist, the canvas is a mouthpiece. She speaks with vibrant colors, bold strokes, and fine lines. The artist whispers her secrets, shares her passion, expresses her anguish, and taunts her sensibilities.

“If I could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint.” —Edward Hopper
.
|| The Guitarist
The guitar player is a different breed of human. She loves nothing more passionately than strumming those strings as if they were made of the most exquisite silk.

“My guitar is not a thing. It is an extension of myself. It is who I am.”—Joan Jett
.
|| The Bookworm
Loving books is a wonderful thing. It let her step into the minds of people she’d never get the chance to meet. Books take her to places she might never get to explore. They broaden her mind, make her feel less alone in the world, and unite her with other book lovers far and wide.

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies.”—George R.R. Martin
