The goal was to create a mark that captured the philosophy of water and visually translate the services Zupo provided. After talking to the client I learned that it represented the famous quote by Bruce Lee: "You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle it becomes the bottle... Become like water my friend.”
I began to sketch many properties of water, its cycles, when it rained, evaporated, and even into the science behind its movement. I needed to also think about the services, so I experimented with ways a results page shifted around a browser. The various lines of links and how they might shift up and down the page. These are just a few of the sketches that were created during that process.
