At the beginning we came up with the concept of Napoleon (one of the most popular pastries we knew) and continued with Bonapart (surname of French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte without “e” at the end). We made the minimalistic illustration of the character’s head and then realized that there were many more historically significant changemaker people and characters that can be easily recognized by only their hats. So we went on and created some more brand characters that together create the pattern, decorate the packaging design and are fun for the customers to guess.
