Normally when we follow the traditional marketing mindset to build a landing page, the outcome will always be a boring layout with a lot of call-to-action sign up forms. When we translate the desktop layout to the mobile layout, it may even make the conversion of the landing page inefficient.
There is nothing wrong with a long mobile landing page since we need to rearrange or condense the content in order to fit in a mobile viewport. The only thing we need to care about is the flow of the information.
In the case of GCFX, the research phase plays a very important role since, in the financial industry, there are a lot of established and verified information structures to reference. We think that those established structures must able to achieve a certain conversion rate. Those references become the backbone of the first version landing page. Sometimes it does not necessarily start from zero, there will be someone on the internet who has already done the hard work for you and you only need to dig them out and digest carefully.
