Collecting reference and inspirational material is one of my favorite parts of any project for so many reasons.

- It creates a visual library that can be referenced throughout the duration of a project. - Forces you to do a competitive analysis and look to analogous worlds for similar solutions. - Grounds everyone's expectations in solutions that have been executed before. - Allows us to work from best practices/best-in-class solutions as a starting point.

Also, it's a high impact visual deliverable that can be put together pretty quickly. What a great way to kick things off!
