Obi Wan Kenobi Lightsaber Hilt - Charcoal Drawing

One of the many drawings I did for school assignments and also one of my favorites.

This charcoal drawing is on 24x36 paper and I completed it in early 2012. The assignment was to use or find a physical object that could create a cast shadow and the focus was supposed to be on the shadow itself and making it look as photorealistic as possible. Ironically, the cast shadow turned out to be the worst part of my drawing (LOL) and looks, to me, almost like an afterthought.

Oh well. So much for me skimping out and not including all the extra notches and small details in the hilt that I probably should have done. Still looks pretty awesome though. (Gotta work on my shadow drawing, still). 🙂
