Lead UI/UX Designer
About Us
Fact Machine is building a new kind of prediction market: an Opinion Market. A fast-paced, gamified platform where people trade and bet on what the majority thinks about culture, sports, and the internet’s biggest debates. Think prediction markets meets social meets game design. Our goal is to create a product that feels alive, addictive, and fun - something people want to come back to every day.
The Role
We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer with strong product instincts, sharp taste, and a love for consumer psychology. You’ll be the creative force shaping how Fact Machine looks and feels across both desktop and mobile. This is not a “make it pretty” role - this is about designing flows and interactions that maximize delight, dopamine, and engagement.
You’ll work closely with the founding team, iterate quickly, and have a ton of creative freedom to test bold ideas. You should also have some front-end understanding (basic is fine) so your Figma designs are dev-ready and easy to translate into code.
The ideal candidate has a self-formed design philosophy and a strong understanding of aesthetic theory.
This role is NYC-based and in-person. We’re a small, high-momentum team, and we believe the best ideas come from working side by side.
What You’ll Do
Own design across the product: mobile app and desktop web.
Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished Figma designs.
Collaborate with founders, engineers, and marketers to rapidly test and ship features.
Infuse game mechanics, reward loops, and behavioral design into the experience.
Push the brand forward with playful yet credible visual identity.
Ensure designs are practical and implementation-ready for engineering.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products.
Animation, 3D motion graphics, and video editing capability.
Strong portfolio of mobile + desktop work, ideally in consumer internet, social, or gaming.
Deep interest in consumer psychology, gamification, and habit-forming product design.
Ability to balance speed of iteration with high taste and attention to detail.
Comfort collaborating closely with engineers and making designs dev-friendly.
Based in NYC and excited to work in person with the team.
Nice to Have
Front-end coding ability (HTML/CSS/Tailwind basics). Experience with consumer apps that scaled.
Branding/illustration chops.
Why Join Us
Shape the future of a new category: social opinion markets.
Work directly with founders on a product with huge upside.
Tons of creative freedom - your ideas will go straight into the app.
Small, tight-knit, high-agency team.
The chance to build something iconic that blends culture, internet, and finance.
