UX Programmer/Software Engineer
Program AV Control Systems
Work with Account Manager and Design Engineer to determine Control System needs
Determine customer’s control system needs
Provide guidance to AV Design and AV Installation teams on control system issues / designs, required parts, installation estimates, etc.
Work with CCCP AV Department’s engineering team to improve the design process.
Contribute to narrative Scope of Work that represents the needs of the customer’s project
Program Control Systems
Develop Scope documentation for touch panel approvals by client.
Program control system components according to requirements of project
Direct sales, engineering and installation staff on methods to improve efficiency, reliability and profit
Provide pre-sale and post-sale support to AV department and customers
Provide support to the Project – Work with Internal Resources
Attend customer meetings with Account Manager to help determine needs
Effectively demonstrate control technology to new or existing customers and fellow employees
Assist with internal support issues, company functions and special events
Provide support to the Project – Work with External Resources
Attend pre-bid walk-through meetings
Work with other trades to locate equipment properly
Troubleshoot technical integration problems in the field
Provide first-line technical support for customers
Research and Development
Work with design engineers to prove concepts, field verify, testing of products
Work with vendors to resolve product issues
Help coordinate a consistent look for control panel pages and system drawings across AV Dept.
Reporting and Communication
Accurately estimate the Design and Programming hours required to complete a project.
Report Design and Programming hours to the Project Manager at the end of each day.
Manage a travel schedule that is efficient and maximizes the number of Design or Programming hours.
Transfer all pertinent documents and information about the Project to the project folder on the appropriate document storage system
Be prepared to provide a brief summary of each project during a weekly Projects Report meeting.
Competencies & Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Effective communication, requires very professional conversation, presentation and problem-solving skills
Read, analyze and interpret building blueprints, technical procedures and governmental regulations
Write reports, business correspondence and develop procedure manuals
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
Exercise judgment in working with customers and coordinate with the account manager to resolve customer business problems, issues, complaints in a manner that is beneficial to both the customer and ACP
Be comfortable, kind, knowledgeable, professional and polite with customers
Knowledge, Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred
1 - 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Professional A/V systems Engineering and Design
CTS Certification or working toward a CTS Certification is preferred
Knowledge of AV Programming Languages, Crestron, Extron, QSC, HTML5, LUA Script, Python, Etc., Office 365/Teams, MS Office Suite.
